The AAFTAA  Photography Basics with Anutosh Deb was initiated on 19 August 2024 on the World Photography Day.

“AAFTAA fosters artistic growth in children in Guwahati, Assam. It has the ‘ASUDEV’s ART GALLERY’ a Private Art Gallery which exhibits selected works of pioneer Assam Artist ASUDEV. AAFTAA School of Arts & Photography conducts weekend classes in an digitally enriched airconditioned studio, that evoke artistic sensibilities and encourage creativity to flourish, alongside opportunities to develop artistic skills. AAFTAA also provides hands on training for development of artistic skills for the aspiring students who wish to take up a career in BVA, NIFT, NID courses.

GUWAHATI: A 5 Day Photography Exhibition of AAFTAA School of Arts & Photography displays the work of four budding photographers of the ‘AAFTAA: One year Photography Basics course with Anutosh Deb’. The four enthusiastic photographers Smt. Geetanjali Barua, Miss Janavika Handique, Miss Shyamantika Handique and Miss Snehalata Podder have exhibited 67 photographs in the 5 day Photography Exhibition held in Gallery No.1, Gauhati Artists’ Guild, Guwahati from September 02 to 06, 2025. All photographs were selected from the outdoor assignments during the ‘One year Photography Basics course with Anutosh Deb’. The exhibition was inaugurated by eminent Photographer Shri Prabhakar De on September 02, 2025. 

The ‘AAFTAA One year Photography Basics course with Anutosh Deb’ has a well-designed approach in framing the syllabus with sessions addressed through audio visual presentations and planned outdoor assignments giving scopes and exposure introducing them to various themes and situations creating scopes for better understanding of the practical aspects of better photography along with artistic approaches. Every the methodology is discussed during the theoretical sessions, which is followed by an assignment. Every assignment is followed by a review session where all students showcase their works from their previous shooting. The peer review classes are interesting as they can understand the nuances of individual photographic excellence going through the content. Hence learning by doing and peer reviewing for understanding better photography styles and individual approaches and therefore stimulate and develop learning skills and artistic sensibilities in photography. All genre of photography themes and situations are explored to enhance the competencies and understanding of the technicalities as well as the influences of nuances of the elements of visual arts with every frame day after day.
